Busovysko

Small village in Staryy Sambir district, Transcarpathian region not far from the Dnister river. Wikipedia says that in 1947 son of legendary general Tara Chuprynka Yuriy Shuhevych was hiding at his father’s friend Mykhaylo Tsyapa here.

church

Church of the Holy Virgin’s Nativity was built in 1780, its belfry was erected 8 years later. The dates are written on the platband of the doors to the church and on the doors to the belfry. The church is made from squared fir-tree timber. This triple-topped church with two-decked belfry is a unique architectural ensemble of boykivs’ka school. It is said that two icons of unknown authors – “Transfiguration of Christ” (XIV century) and “Kings and Eastern sages bowing to Jesus” (XVI century) – are kept there.
